July 2026 Lymphatic Health Hub: Self-Care, Movement and Lipoedema Live

newsletter Jul 01, 2026

Hello and welcome

Whether you're living with lymphoedema or lipoedema, supporting someone you love, or you're a health professional wanting to expand your knowledge, I'm so pleased you're here.

Winter is well and truly upon us, and while we often think of cold weather as cosy, it can also mean drier skin, less movement and increased swelling for many people. This month I've included a few simple reminders, a free resource, details about my next Lipoedema Live session and, of course, something a little fun!

So take 5, grab a cuppa and enjoy this month's Lymphatic Health Hub.

๐ŸŒ July Health Spotlight ๐ŸŒ

International Self-Care Day – 24 July

Self-care isn't selfish, it's part of managing your health.

For people living with lymphatic conditions, self-care doesn't have to be complicated.

  • Wear your compression as prescribed.
  • Moisturise your skin daily.
  • Keep moving, even if it's just a short walk.
  • Listen to your body and rest when you need to.

Sometimes the smallest habits have the biggest impact.

Just for Fun!

๐ŸŒ World Emoji Day – 17 July

If you could describe your week using just one emoji, which would it be?

๐Ÿ˜Š Feeling great
๐Ÿ˜ด Need more sleep
๐Ÿšถ Ready for a walk
โ˜• Powered by coffee
๐Ÿ’œ Grateful

๐ŸŒป International Day of Friendship – 30 July

Life has a way of getting busy, and before we know it, weeks or even months have passed since we last caught up with someone who makes us smile.

This month, why not make friendship part of your self-care?

๐Ÿ’œ Reach out to an old friend.
โ˜• Invite someone for a coffee.
๐Ÿšถ Take a walk together.
๐Ÿ˜Š Introduce yourself to someone new.
๐Ÿ“ง Or simply share this newsletter with someone who might enjoy it.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give is our time. You never know who might need to hear from you today. ๐Ÿ’œ

Your lymphatic system loves movement, not intensity

Many people think they need to exercise harder to improve their circulation, but your lymphatic system works differently.

Unlike your heart, the lymphatic system doesn't have a pump. Instead, it relies on muscle contractions, deep breathing and everyday movement to help transport lymphatic fluid around the body.

That means simple activities like walking, stretching, gardening or even standing up regularly throughout the day can make a real difference.

โœจ This month's Gold Nugget:
Don't underestimate the power of small, consistent movement. Five minutes here and there throughout the day is often more beneficial than sitting for hours and trying to make up for it with one big workout.

๐Ÿ’œ Try this today: Set a reminder to stand up and move for two or three minutes every hour. Your lymphatic system will thank you.

Keep moving, feel better - July resource of the month

Myth of the Month

"You need to exercise hard to improve your lymphatic system."

โœ… Fact

Your lymphatic system doesn't respond to intensity, it responds to movement.

Unlike your heart, it doesn't have a pump. Instead, it relies on muscle contractions, deep breathing and everyday movement to help move lymphatic fluid around your body.

That means:

  • ๐Ÿšถ A 10-minute walk counts
  • ๐Ÿช‘ Chair exercises count
  • ๐Ÿฆต Calf raises while the kettle boils count
  • ๐ŸŒฟ Gardening counts
  • ๐Ÿงน Housework counts

The best exercise is the one you'll do consistently.

๐Ÿ’œ Remember: Every step, stretch and deep breath helps your lymphatic system do its job.

Thank you for continuing to support lymphatic health awareness, education, and advocacy.

Please feel free to share this newsletter with anyone who may benefit.

Hope to see you on one of the live lipoedema webinars.
